Beyond the Hype 2008: Web 2.0

Symposium to be held in Brisbane Australia 1-2 February 2008.

Hey guys,

I (and a few others) are coming up to Beyind the Hype from Melbourne. We have Friday night free to go out for dinner so we are hoping some locals will come and join us! We have no plans as yet. We are just keen to tag along somewhere with everyone else so if someone has organised something please let us know so we can come along too!

Hey Gemma

You read my mind. I was going to post something about organising dinner somewhere on Friday or Saturday night or both. My thought is to put together a list of possible places to eat and see how many are interested on the Friday and then go from there.

If anybody wants anything more structured organised let me know. I am happy to organise something.

Cheers
Rachel

Hello Rachel,

I'd love to come along to dinner on Friday night as I will be all on my own-some. Look forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks
Donna.

Yup. Count me in. As long as I'm not making slides on my laptop at the last minute, I'd love to eat somewhere on the Friday night with vegetarian meals that isn't so loud and crowded that we can't hear each other. I'm staying at the Marque Hotel in George Street and fly out for VALA on the Sat night.

Hi all

I have booked a table for 20 people at Cafe San Marco at Southbank. A central location, by the Brisbane River and without the hassles of splitting bills (you order and pay at the counter). I don't know about the noise level, it is a while since I have been there but they do have vegetarian meals.

As a bonus, there are night markets at Southbank on Fridays nights for those interested in a little shopping, plus there a lot of other bars, cafes etc nearby for those interested in kicking on or changing locations for dessert.

Cheers
Rachel

Room for one more?

Yes there is. There is 3 vacancies left. Although I am sure the restaurant could fit more in if required.
